About Me

Hi there! I’m Alexa Johnson, founder of Pawzenclub, and I’m absolutely obsessed with everything dog-related. Welcome to what I hope becomes your favorite corner of the internet for canine wisdom, stories, and community.

My Journey with Dogs

My love story with dogs began over two decades ago when my family rescued Buster, a scrappy little terrier mix with one ear that never quite stood up right. Watching him transform from a timid, neglected pup into a confident, tail-wagging family member sparked something in me that has only grown stronger over the years.

Since then, I’ve shared my life with eleven different dogs – from a gentle giant Great Dane named Moose to a feisty Chihuahua mix called Pepper who ruled our household with an iron paw. Each dog has been my teacher, showing me new facets of canine behavior, individual personalities, and the incredible bond between humans and their four-legged companions.

Why Pawzenclub Exists

After years of fielding the same questions from friends, neighbors, and fellow dog parents, I realized there was a real need for honest, experience-based guidance in the dog community. Too many websites offer generic advice that doesn’t account for individual dogs’ personalities or real-life situations.

Pawzenclub was born from my frustration with one-size-fits-all dog advice and my passion for helping dogs and their humans build stronger relationships. This isn’t just another dog blog filled with stock photos and recycled tips.

What You’ll Find Here

At Pawzenclub, I cover everything from puppy basics to senior dog care, training tips that actually work in real homes (not just perfect training environments), product reviews based on extensive testing with my own pack, and honest discussions about the challenges of dog ownership that people don’t always talk about.

I believe in positive reinforcement training, science-based care, and treating every dog as an individual. You’ll never find punishment-based training methods here, and I always encourage working with veterinarians and certified professionals for serious behavioral or health concerns.

My Current Pack

Right now, I share my home with three rescue dogs who keep me on my toes: Luna, a border collie mix who thinks she’s my personal assistant; Charlie, a senior golden retriever who’s taught me everything about grace and patience; and Ziggy, a young pit bull mix who’s shown me that breed stereotypes are just that – stereotypes.

Beyond the Blog

When I’m not writing, researching, or photographing dogs for Pawzenclub, you can find me hiking local trails with my pack, volunteering at adoption events, or curled up on the couch with a good book and at least two dogs using me as their personal heating pad.

Let’s Connect

Pawzenclub is more than just my platform – it’s a community. I love hearing from readers about their own dog adventures, challenges, and victories. Whether you’re celebrating a training breakthrough or need advice for a tricky situation, I’m here for it all.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we’re making life better for dogs and the humans who love them, one tail wag at a time.

With love and muddy paws,
Alexa Johnson

P.S. – If you ever see a woman at the dog park with three dogs who somehow manages to get more treats in her hair than in the dogs’ mouths, that’s probably me. Come say hi!
